How Palomar StarLux™ works

The Palomar Starlux IPL uses light absorbed by melanin and oxyhemoglobin to eliminate pigmented and vascular lesions and reduce hair regrowth. Light selective to melanin is applied to the skin with contact cooling creating a safe and comfortable treatment for you. When the light is absorbed into the melanin, it heats up the cells to cause cellular turnover without impacting the surrounding tissue. Over a series of treatments, these pigmented lesions normalize in color and slough off.

In treating vascular lesions such as telangiectasia’s, rosacea, etc, IPL light selective to oxyhemoglobin is applied to the skin with contact cooling. The result is damage to the vessel walls while leaving surrounding tissue intact and impacted. This eliminates these superficial vessels and creates a homogenous, rejuvenated look to the skin.

Individual results may vary, as may the number of treatments and time between treatments required to achieve desired results.
