M22™

M22™ is a multi-application aesthetic laser treatment solution that can be performed on more than 30 skin conditions and for the removal of unwanted hair. Because the modular system combines four technologies in one, the licensed professionals at California Skin Institute may recommend M22™ for patients who seek a variety of aesthetic treatments to restore the skin’s natural glow and youthful appearance.

The intense pulsed light (IPL) application of M22™ is used for removal of unwanted hair as well as for treating uneven pigmentation and the appearance of lentigines (liver spots), sun spots, age spots and keratosis. The M22™ IPL also can be used for treat vascular lines, rosacea and active acne

Two additional laser applications of M22™ treat several pigmented and vascular spots on the face and other areas of the body, including sun spots, port wine stains and hemangiomas.

How M22™ works

Each component of M22™ uses a distinct technology to address the desired treatment area. The flexibility of M22™ allows it to be used on very small or large areas of the skin.

M22™ IPL treatments apply highly controlled pulses of light. For hair removal, the beams are selectively absorbed by hair follicles, damaging the follicle to prevent regrowth without hurting surrounding tissue. For marks or lesions, M22™ IPL wavelength is optimized so that only the unwanted melanin absorbs the light. Deeper, damaged blood vessels are treated simultaneously.

One of the two additional M22™ laser applications fades and smooths out the appearance of pigmented spots using a “painting” method that also stimulates collagen. Another uses lasers to remove vascular marks such as port wine stains, leg veins and hemangiomas. Automated cooling between sequences of laser pulses protect the epidermis and allow safe use at higher frequencies.
