Samuel Peterson, MD
Samuel “Ray” Peterson, MD is originally from Utah and relocated to Southern California. He trained at the University of Texas, Baylor College of Medicine, and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. In dermatology residence, Dr. Peterson developed a passion for oncology and later pursued extensive fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.
S. Ray Peterson is board-certified in dermatology and a fellowship-trained member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He has published extensively on all aspects of Mohs Surgery, lectured at national and international conferences, and has been an editor for several related medical journals. He directed a comprehensive advanced skin cancer clinic in Provo, Utah for 15 years before pursuing a family dream of living in Orange County, California.
He enjoys spending time on the coast with his wife, six children and two grandchildren. He also enjoys reading nonfiction: Malcolm Gladwell and Atul Gawande are two of his favorite writers. He enjoys fishing, stand up paddle boarding, biking, running, skiing and snowboarding.
