Bao Anh Patrick Tran, MD

Bao Anh Patrick Tran, MD is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in Medical, Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology. Dr. Tran is a Bay Area native and graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. Dr. Tran completed his M.D. at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His initial residency began at Indiana University in plastic and reconstructive surgery. During a rotation in Dermatology, Dr. Tran found his true passion in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Advanced Cosmetic Surgery. Thereafter, he completed his Dermatology residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D. C. and served as Chief Resident during his final year.

Dr. Tran published articles in numerous peer-reviewed journals, which include JAMA Dermatology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Journal of Dermatological Science and Journal of Surgical Dermatology. Additionally, Dr. Tran delivered presentations nationally at the American Academy of Dermatology and the Washington D. C. Dermatological Society.

Dr. Tran actively trains in Mohs micrographic, dermatologic and advanced cosmetic surgery at the California Skin Institute. Dr. Tran strives to provide his patients with the highest quality medical and surgical care. Dr. Tran’s interests in dermatology include Mohs Micrographic Surgery to cure skin cancer, advanced reconstructive surgeries, minimally invasive cosmetic rejuvenation procedures with local anesthesia including blepharoplasty (eye lift), facelift, neck sculpting, body contouring with tumescent liposuction, scar revision, laser procedures, chemical peels, and cosmetic injectables including fillers and neuromodulators.

During his free time Dr. Tran enjoys salsa dancing, playing guitar, traveling and trying new restaurants.
