Dr. Monica B. Constantinescu is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cosmetic and medical dermatologist who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Pomona College before completing her medical education at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and internship in Internal Medicine at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. During medical school, Dr. Constantinescu was selected as a scholarship recipient of the prestigious Clinical Research Training Program under the auspices of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, where she spent a year immersed in bench research studying skin cancer biology. She completed her residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA before accepting a position with Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Sacramento, CA and returning to the West Coast to be close to family.

During her years of practice at Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Constantinescu received several patient recognition awards for outstanding care and was voted as Sacramento’s Top Doctors for 5 years in a row. She also served as Volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor at UC Davis School of Medicine, overseeing and teaching dermatology residents during their clinical rotations at Kaiser Permanente. With a growing interest in aesthetic dermatology and a passion for a holistic approach to skin care, Dr. Constantinescu went on to complete one year of advanced ASDS-accredited fellowship training in laser and cosmetic dermatologic surgery with renowned, New York City-based celebrity dermatologist Dr. Whitney Bowe.

Dr. Constantinescu joins CSI with over 10 years of experience caring for patients from diverse backgrounds and takes great joy and pride in helping her patients look and feel their best at any age. She has a particular interest in combining advanced cosmetic skills and artistry with up-to-date medical treatments to achieve optimal skin health and a natural appearance.

Dr. Constantinescu is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. In her free time, she enjoys fitness, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and goldendoodle, Lucy.
