NEW LOCATION: Dermatology Group of Southern California

California Skin Institute just keeps on growing! We are excited to officially announce that Dermatology Group of Southern California has joined California Skin Institute as of October 18, 2019. Dermatology Group of Southern California offers a wide range of medical and cosmetic treatments, including skin cancer care, acne and dark spot treatments, fillers, injectables and aesthetician services. Join us in welcoming Doctors Roy B. Blumenstrauch and Andrew Breithaupt and their team of skincare professionals to the California Skin Institute family!

Dr. Roy B. Blumenstrauch grew up in Southern California and graduated as valedictorian of his high school class of 1100 students with high honors, including summa cum laude and membership in Phi Beta Kappa honors society. He went on to attend the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated with a B.S. Degree in Biochemistry. He remained at UCLA to attend medical school. Dr. Blumenstrauch completed his internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and his residency at UCLA medical center. Dr. Blumenstrauch has been in private practice from 1985 to present. He is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Hebrew.

 

Dr. Andrew Breithaupt (pronounced “bright-hopped”) is a board-certified, fellowship-trained surgical and cosmetic dermatologist and Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery, non-invasive cosmetic surgery, injectable fillers and toxins, lasers and energy-based devices. After receiving his M.D. and completing his internship, Dr. Breithaupt did his residency in Dermatology at UCLA. Following residency, he performed a fellowship at UCLA in Mohs surgery, reconstructive plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery. This exclusive training, undertaken by only one physician per year at UCLA, gives him the unique set of skills that combine the fields of dermatology, Mohs surgery, plastic surgery, and laser surgery that are needed to provide his patients with the best possible results.

Karina Ritter is a devoted Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in the medical field. Karina received her master’s in family nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles and holds a bachelor’s degree from Azusa Pacific University. Karina has training in all areas of dermatology and has expertise in treating patients of all ages including seniors and children. Patients see her for a variety of reasons, including annual skin screenings, hair loss, psoriasis, pediatric rashes, laser hair removal, acne (including Accutane patients), psoriasis, eczema and warts. She also performs excisions, cryosurgery with liquid nitrogen and biopsies. Karina has many years of experience with various dermatologic, cosmetic, and aesthetic skin care.  Karina performs Botox, Filler Injections, Sculptra, Sclerotherapy, PDT for acne and actinic keratosis, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, IPL, Laser Hair Reduction and Laser Vein treatments on legs and face.

Rachel Lau is a national board-certified Physician Assistant and a member of the California Academy of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University in Business Marketing. Prior to her lifelong pursuit of being a Physician Assistant, Rachel spent several years in post-operative orthopedic care working closely with top professional sports team physicians in the Los Angeles Area. She then went on to get her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Rachel has experience in both cosmetic and general dermatology. Rachel treats acne, sun damage, rashes, warts, hair loss and various skin diseases. She also has experience with Botox, Fillers, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, Sclerotherapy and more.
