California Skin Institute Welcomes South San Jose Location

California Skin Institute opened it’s new location on June 3rd in South San Jose. The new office is located at 393 Blossom Hill Rd #290 San Jose, CA 95123. The new location is a merger between the office of Kent Carson, MD and California Skin Institute. The center will continue to provide the excellent medical and surgical dermatology care for all former and new patients. In August of this year, Dr. Katharine Ball, MD will join the center. The office will offer additional state-of-the-art laser, microwave, ultrasound, cosmetic and surgical techniques.*

Dr. Carson is a board certified dermatologist with over thirty years of clinical experience treating adult and childhood conditions of skin, hair and nails.* Dr. Carson trained at Stanford University, Mayo Clinic, and UCSF among other institutions. Dr. Carson is a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at Stanford University Medical Center and a Clinical Lecturer in Dermatology at the University of California Medical Center, San Francisco; he has taught at both institutions since 1980. Dr Carson is in charge of dermatology education for the Family Practice physicians at San Jose O`Conner Hospital. Dr. Carson has been in private practice in San Jose since 1980, he is thrilled to become a member of California Skin Institute because of the shared goal of high quality of care and offering the most up-to-date technologies and techniques.*

Dr. Ball is a board certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs and laser surgeon specializing in a variety of procedures including Mohs micrographic surgery, advanced reconstructive techniques, cosmetic procedures and laser surgery.* She completed her dermatology residency at Stanford University and subsequently obtained board certification. Before joining California Skin Institute, Dr. Ball completed additional training in Mohs surgery and procedural dermatology during a prestigious fellowship at the University of California, Irvine.*

The new South San Jose location is a continuation of California Skin Institute’s growth across Northern California. This new center will be California Skin Institute’s fifteenth physical location, and nineteenth practice merger. This growth has lead California Skin Institute to become the largest private practice dermatology group in California with one of the broadest services lines in the country including dermatology, pathology, plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery. As a whole, the group has 39 providers including dermatologists, plastic surgeons, pathologists, radiation oncologists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.*
