THE HISTORY OF THE CALIFORNIA SKIN INSTITUTE
The California Skin Institute was formed in 2007 by the merger of the medical and cosmetic dermatology practice of Sara L. Colby, MD and Associates in San Jose and the dermatologic surgery practice of Greg S. Morganroth, MD in Mountain View, California. In March 2008, the Saratoga medical and cosmetic dermatology practice of Georgia K. Abrams merged with the California Skin Institute to provide a third location for our patients. As a whole, CSI is the largest private practice dermatology group with one of the broadest medical, surgical, and pathology services in Northern California. We have eight physicians, one nurse practitioner, and one physician assistant who provide a broad range of expertise to cover the full spectrum of skin disease and treatment.

The combined resources of our Silicon Valley offices include:
- The areas only full-time Mohs Micrographic Surgery lab consisting of three cryostats and histotechnologists providing the highest volume skin cancer removal removal and reconstruction services in Northern California
- A nationally recognized center for the training of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Advanced Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery with two fellowship training positions available each year.
- State-of-the art diagnostic and therapeutic facilities consisting of 29 exam/laser/procedure rooms in three locations

- Our own in-house board-certified dermatopathologist to provide quick pathology readings and ready access for physicians to discuss challenging skin disease cases
